Mounting & Dismounting

Mounting and dismounting the aircraft is the most time consuming and accident prone component of Air Mobile ops. If you’re too slow getting out, you risk losing your aircraft to enemy fire. If you’re too fast / unorganised, you end up with a shamble on the HLZ that can lead to more casualties if you’re to get ambushed.

Mounting (Base / Safe Area)

  1. Section Leader briefs team on the method of mounting being used – for safe areas and bases, you will most commonly use a direct line formation to load into the aircraft.
  2. Section Leader will assign fire teams their sides (Left or Right) for the future dismount.
  3. Once aircraft is ready for boarding, Section Leader will call for the team to load in.
  4. Section leader is the last to board the aircraft.
